In the past the Starr Gennett Music Festival was contained to the Gorge. However this year you will be able to enjoy music and other activities at different venues throughout Richmond, including downtown Main Street.
Starting this Friday there will be live music in front of Veachs in downtown Richmond. Be sure to check out Blackthorn Bards playing Irish and Scotish music at 3:15 p.m. in front of Veach’s with our own GoWayneCounty editor, Jack Humphrey on drums. Other musicians will play from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Main Street in front of Veach’s. This is a family friendly event.
Friday night at 7:30 p.m. you can also see Sweet Honey In The Rock at Goddard Auditorium at Earlham College. Sweet Honey in the Rock performs an adventurous and diverse mixture of blues, African, jazz, gospel and R&B music, with excursions into symphonic and dance theater.
All day Saturday enjoy free music in the Gorge, and Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. you can see Sweet Honey In The Rock again live at Earlham College (call the box office at Earlham for tickets). Read below for events during Music on Main Street this Friday, September 6, 2013:
