Richmond, Indiana – As part of the unveiling and dedication of the National Road interpretative panel on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11 am, Wayne County Convention & Tourism Bureau will be hosting author Joseph M. Jarzen.
Jarzen is the co-author of Images of Indiana’s Historic National Road: The East Side, Richmond to Indianapolis. Commissioned by the Indiana National Road Association, the book was published in 2011 and includes over 225 photos and illustrations of the National Road, some dating back to 1816. The book is dedicated to the members of the Indiana National Road Association, past and present, for keeping the spirit of the road alive. His co-author was Alan E. Hunter.
Jarzen is the former executive director of INRA and worked diligently to promote the National Road during his time at INRA. He earned his master’s degree in historic preservation from Columbia University.
The author will be signing and selling his books in the Welcome Center gift shop during the National Road interpretive panel unveiling and dedication.
