This just in…..

veach's toy story gwc picThis has been a big year for Veach’s, celebrating our 75th year in business, and it’s about to get even bigger!

We recently found out that Veach’s is going to be on the TODAY show* and we’re the recipient of a store makeover project. The big reveal will be this Friday from 3-6pm and we want to invite the Richmond community to come out and see the transformation!

So let’s all get out and show our support for one of the oldest family owned businesses in Wayne County, bringing joy to kids and the community for decades.  Many of us remember our children (and our ourselves) visiting the birthday castle over the years.  And now our favorite toy store is being recognized nationally.  Be there this Friday from 3-6 p.m!

*The TODAY show segment will air in February, more details to come.

veachs store frontVeach’s Toy Station in downtown Richmond is celebrating their 75th year in business! Along with the downtown Richmond community, Veach’s will host an anniversary event sure to please any family.

Family owned and operated since 1938, the old-fashioned, 16,000 square foot toy store has a huge selection of quality, fun, educational toys for kids of all ages – toys you won’t find in big box stores. Here you’ll discover Madame Alexander dolls, Lincoln Logs, oversized marionettes, magic kits, heavy-duty construction sets and an entire room devoted to model train merchandise. The cheerful shop also boasts a large selection of exciting board games, intriguing books and artistic crafts that enable children to be imaginative and creative.

“Service, service, service,” is what John & Shari Veach offers customers of every age. “We are a real, actual old-time toy store like you remember from when you were a kid.” “We focus on small companies; American made toys with many on display for customers to experience.” Customers are encouraged to ask questions when searching for that perfect gift. The friendly folks at Veach’s are happy to explain and demonstrate everything from developmental baby items to rugged outdoor toys. Free gift wrapping is also available. Children always look forward to the weekly summertime craft workshops held at Veach’s Toy Station.

On August 17, 2013 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., there will be a big anniversary bash which will include many fun activities . . . a dance party, a sprinkler party, a bounce house, chalk art, outdoor games, unveiling of the new birthday castle (children are able to choose a special gift from the castle on their birthday) and much more! Free cupcakes and goody bags to the first 500 in attendance! Other unique downtown businesses will also host kids’ activities and will have something special to add to the goody bags. A free family movie will be shown in the evening in front of Veach’s.
