Missy Moore runner in 7K for Easter Seals

Saturday around 12:30 p.m., amidst the fog and cold, runners of all ages were gathering for the 7K Turkey Chase for Easter Seals. Also participating in the kids run or running on the track, parents and children, friends, spouses and siblings all ran together as others walked about in Historic Centerville IN.   And I….just watched.

I was heartened by the fact that Missy Moore said she just started training in February of this year, and has already participated in two–half marathons, three 5K’s, and this was her first 7K.  She said she was really enjoying running.

Jaime with daughters Alexandra & Sierra

Jaime and her husband Tony were there with their two small children, Alexandra and Sierra (seen in picture.)  They would be running in the 7K while pushing the girls in a double stroller (shouldn’t they get extra credit for that)?  Jaime shared that she had just participated in a run last month and planned to be at the frostbite at Glen Miller Park the first week in December.

Running Brings Out The Best In People

Dedication and sheer enjoyment was written on many faces today and it inspired me to get a bit further in my own journey of fitness.  Clearly running brings out the best in people as this crowd of hundreds indicated today.

Rounding the bend for Easter Seals

Though prizes were awarded–including a turkey, most looked as if running was the part they enjoyed the most–and raising money for a good cause.
