Friday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m., Common Grounds Coffeehouse welcomes back Four Shillings Short, a Celtic music group featuring husband and wife singers Aodh Óg Ó Tuama and Christy Martin. They are back here for their third visit to Richmond, on a tour that stretches from California to Maine and from Florida to Minnesota.  Cost is 5.00.  Refreshments will be available.

Wildflower Hike At Cope Environmental Center

Wildflower Hike Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Many flowers are starting to pop out!!!  And this will be a beautiful weekend to be out in nature on the trails and by the ponds where the frogs are ringing in spring with their wonderful chirps.  Members participate for free – non-members only $3. Call to register 855-3188.  The Cope Environmental Center is located off of Airport Road, which is on your left off of 40 as you are heading into the town of Centerville.

Now that Spring is here, Townsend Community Center invites you to help kick off the garden season by joining us for a Planting Party & Lunch from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.  There will be planting and building of raised beds.  Join us for lunch form 12-1:00 p.m.  In case of rain it will be rescheduled for Saturday April 9, 10-1.  Call Mona Mayberry at 965-5800 if you need transportation.  This event is part of the celebration of Minority Health Month.

Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana At Civic Hall Performing Arts

Saturday, 7:30 – 9:30 pm.  The Earlham Concert Choir, Earlham Women’s Chorus, Richmond Community Chorus and Earlham Symphony Orchestra, with guest musicians from the Richmond Symphony Orchestra come together to perform Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, a scenic cantata based on twenty-four poems. It is one of the most thrilling and popular of all choral works, with an emphasis on infectious rhythm, folk-based harmonies and a text that celebrates the joy of living. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the concert will open with a work by the orchestra alone. April 3, 2011,  7:00 pm,  Goddard Auditorium, Carpenter Hall.  A family-friendly evening of Centerville High School and Earlham Percussion, DRUMaddix is an annual outreach event combining the talent of several local percussion ensembles with the addition of a special guest artist/group. Included in this concert are special guests Pavel Polanco-Safadit and his latin jazz trio Direct Contact.
