Post How about a list of live music venues?

I’d love to see all the places where live music is a major feature.

And not just Richmond! What about Hagerstown, Centerville, Winchester and the others?

Well we all know that in Richmond the biggest dog in the yard for live music is E street pub. But they aren’t the only ones seeking live entertainment. The Wheel has alot of bands play there. You also got the patio at the Ribeye. And I heard TallyHo has had live entertainment also. This isn’t a complete list of every establishment, just what came off the top of my head.

If you have a favorite hang out that doesn’t currently offer live entertainment maybe you could give them a suggestion. There are so many good bands in this area and it seems most of them are competing for the same stage. Owners of your favorite places are always looking to make money and a good band can do that for them. Let me tell you a true story.

Way back when E street pub was called the Night Junction my band played there. It started out small, maybe 20 people, and we were getting a little worried that this may be all we get. Well those 20 people liked us enough to call their friends and their friends called their friends and so on. People that were at the bar next door could hear us and liked it too. by our 2nd set we were getting a visit from the fire marshall to make sure we were still under capacity. The owner said it was the most profitable night he had in over a year. They even took a collection to keep us playing long after our sets were over.

That is a win-win situation for everyone. The patrons were happy, the owner was happy, the band was happy. Just remember that this could happen anywhere. Sometimes the owner of the establishment needs to know what you the patron want. Then everybody wins.
